What a hot hot day. Got up to the mid 90s. I decided to go out on an early, albeit long cycling ride out towards Harpers Ferry, to beat the heat. It was a muggy morning, but I kept hydrated during the 58 mile roundtrip trek. Came home, took a nap in the splendor of air conditioning. Woke up and headed to the pool for an hour to take in a little sun and cool water. Then stupidly decided to take another bike ride - it was cooling off, and it was turning nice out. So I suited up and biked out a little past Clarks Gap, 42 miles roundtrip - making for a perfect 100 miles for the day. On the way back, I stumbled across a few cyclists in the middle of the bike path looking at a blue herron that apparrently landed on one of the power lines and got shocked, and fell 50 feet in the middle of the bike path. Sad. But it was apparently still alive, with a broken wing, breathing, no blood, eyes blinking. It was scared. We called animal control - they came within 10 minutes to gently pick it up in a blanket and take it to a local vet. Such humanity. In for the evening - to relax, cook & watch a movie. I'm thinking of making some kinda tomato coconut curry with littleneck clams over grilled mahi mahi. Yum. Life is Humane :)

Long day at work - yet undramatic. Became busy during the end of the day. The heat ramped up. I took a very sweaty 1.5 hour ride out to Clarks Gap and back then headed to the gym to train on the spinner bike for another 1.5 hours. Very sweaty. Ran a few errands, including going to an international market to get a few ecclectic provisions to cook something unorthodox over the weekend. Came home for an evening of watching movies, correspondence and relaxation. Life is Good

Wasn't feeling well this morning. I called into the office and said I'd not be coming in - but would be available if they needed anything. No one called, so I suppose that drama was quashed on whatever level. I slept most of the day, with fucked up anxiety fueled daymares, with headaches and sweats, tummy not feeling well. I awoke at about 5pm and went to the pool thinking that spending time in the hot tub would calm me and what was ailing me. It worked. Came home and witnessed some great thunderboomers with no rain. It cooled things off (was in the high 90s). Prepared for the day tomorrow and caught up on correspondence. And spent a few hours writing. Tomorrow better be a better day. Life is whatevvah.

Yawns. Exhausting day of sorts. Work was just work. The temperature rose and I left work to go on a 1.5 hour training ride out to Clarks Gap and back (32 miles) before my spinner class, which lasted about an hour. I seemed to sweat gallons, good thing I was hydrating well. Came home after a few errands to a usual evening of domesticity and a little tv (there's nothing good on...just those shitty "so you think you can dance, be a rock star, blah blah blah) - I resorted to watching a few documentaries on PBS while paying bills. Tomorrow is another day. Life can sometimes be, just life.

Sleepy & busy morning - silly time at DMV and then for a day at work which amounted to be just an excersize in corporate silliness. I was ready to bolt out of there (with much frustration) and bike out to Clarks Gap before the thunderstorms began. It was a fast and furious ride out - tailwind, the ride back was wind in the face cool down. The sky was turning, I stepped up the pace and got back to my car before anything dramatic happenned. It didn't start thundertsorming...yet. Came home and rushed to get to the pool to cool off - the sky was threatening, but it was still hot out, the pool was packed. After about a half hour of going between the pool and the hot tub, while reading I heard the first crack of lightning - time to jet...and fast. I quickly gathered all my things and was heading out of the pool when the thunderstorm finally hit. Got drenched on the 1/2 block run home. Good, one less chore to do (water the garden). Spent the evening with stupid domesticity. Life is sometimes boorish.

Not bad for a Monday - casual day at work, turned into a uber-casual day. Was productive to what could have been. But it was a beautiful day outside, and my new cycling shoes arrived - I was ready to head out to break them in. Promptly left work on time and biked out to Clarks Gap and back (41 miles total) - such a beautiful day, perfect for cycling. Came home and finished preparations for a quick dinner with a friend/colleague. Had a nice time catching up. Said farewell and into another night of preparing for the next day. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the constant state of preparation for something else. Life is a nice plate of Linguini with a white Chardonnay Clam Sauce.

Another sleepy rainy day. But the weather cleared up and I suited up and biked out towards Harpers Ferry. A nice foggy/humid yet cool ride, all 54 miles. Finished up, came home to do a few things including a long nap. Woke up to hearing Charlie Daniel's Band performing across the road - blah. Settling in for the evening of a little tv and domesticity while suffering Sunday Night Anxiety. Life is Life
