I had a FANTASTIC day and evening with my close friends Angie & Anslie who travelled up and stayed part of the weekend - Suffice to say, we had a fun day and an evening filled with good food, friendship, lots of Merlot, laughter & candles. Pictures to come tomorrow.

If there is a strange defining moment in my stupid career - it somehow happenned today. Even if it was minor. All the work for the past 3 weeks (and 6 months) have truely paid off. To preface this, I was not looking for gratitude, or any compensation for what happenned today. I had a day that proved something, mostly to myself.

I presented a project to some top brass that went extremely well, albeit - I was sufficently stressed and nervous about it. But it went INCREDIBLY well. I have a tendency to overstress and read into too many things. But all the babysitting of details paid off. Today I "shown". I won't go too far to pat myself on the back, but the presentation I gave today was stellar. I feel like I have finally honed my skills to do this - and move further into my career. Proof is in the pudding. When I hear "Impressive", my ears perk.

Suffice today was a grand one. The entire morning and afternoon was tied up in the presentation and followup. Later I heard accollades from my bosses, which is like pulling eye teeth out of them. "If momma is not happy, no one is happy". Well, "momma" was extremely happy. Felt good to get praise for doing a good job.

I slummed the last few hours of work tying up other business before I went to the gym and spent almost an hour and a half on the spinner bike on a victory ride. Felt great. I feel healthy, safe, secure, and full of angst & unconditional love.

Ran a few errands and came home to finish cleaning my silly pad for some friends to be here for the weekend, clean, vacuum, laundry, prepping for a dinner tomorrow night. I watched the movie "The Interpreter" with Nicole Kidman (swoons out of control) and Sean Penn - great film. Spoke volumes less about the disapora of politics and assasination, but more about human loneliness & metaphors of how to grieve. And of course, Nicole Kidman's eyes - she is fucking dreamy :)

Will spend the rest of this late evening cleaning, folding laundry and preparing for my friends to arrive tomorrow - for a fun weekend full of shopping, psychoalysisbabble over many glasses of Merlot and pasta. I just wanna relax - it's been a blur of a stressful week. Closure is good.

Life is fucking fantastic!

Very busy day at work. I'm exhausted. Spent the day preparing for a very stressful and important meeting of sorts tomorrow. A little freaked about it - but I'll finish it ok. Heck, why do I get myselves into these things. THen again, why do I sign up for insane cycling events of ultra endurance marathon capacity - because it's what I do. The love of the stress & adrenalyn high.

Speaking of which, I left work late and went out to enjoy the spendor of the weather - it was 60 degrees, felt like Spring. I suited up to cycling shorts, arm warmers, jersey, and fingerless gloves and biked out to Hamilton. The trail was partially wet and the wind was idiotic, but it was a fun fun destressing ride, 34 miles. Came home to more domesticity and prepared for tomorrow - time to vegetate in front of the boob tube to relax before a very stressful morning tomorrow.

VERY busy day. Work was very productive and gratifying - with the new project I'm managing. So far so good. The temperatures warmed up to almost 60 degrees - melting all the snow we got over the wekend. It was far too sloppy and still patches of snow/ice to go on a safe training ride, so I opted to go to the gym. I spent an hour lifting weights and another 45 minutes on the spinner bike. It was a GREAT workout. Tomorrow will be a warmer day - I may go out cycling, hard to resist.

Ran a few errands, came home to an evening of domesticity and what not in preparation for the rest of the workweek and weekend. New LOST on tv, took a break to watch.

Back to my chores, et al. Life is good.

Oh farking Valentines Day. What a busy day. Between work, training and domesticity - my life is full. No date tonight. Well, I had a date with the gym.

I'm now officially addicted to spinning - and spinner classes (especially if the weather is by far undoable to cycle outside). I've been to the gym two days this week doing spinner classes/on the spinner. I really enjoy it. I just get on and cycle like a maniac - for about an hour and a half. Work up the best sweat. I do need an iPod now - for spinning (I refuse to have music playing when I'm out cycling in the outdoors, for the obvious reasons).

The great thing about spinning is that I can get the same excersize without all the drama when there's shitty weather crap. And when I'm done, I can sit in the sauna and sweat out more, then take a quick shower. I feel really relaxed. Sometimes too relaxed. Usually after my winter training rides - I come home and spend about a 1/2 hour unpacking/undressing and trying to get warm. I'll do a few spinning classes a week while the weather is uncooperative.

The next few days will be a little stressful, with this current project that I'm managing - but the payoff will be great (I hope). I've immersed myself back into work and other New Year resolute - taxes, will preparation, finance reform, planning of various trips/cycling races/events this season.

Looking forward to this weekend - will have some friends from out of town. Will be a fun weekend of cooking & debauchery (ha!). Now that we are all getting older - the hijinx and shenanegans and tom-foolery has changed in scope. No longer wild nights of clubs and rauchous fun, more of introspective fun of sorts.

Speaking of which - I really HATE that damn Chase Credit Card commercial, that has that song "I'm 33 for a moment..."

On that note - I need to get prepared for the day tomorrow.

Today was a cold cold day - and a busy work day. Finished up work and headed to the gym and spent an hour and a half of the spinner cycle. Worked up a great sweat. Came home after a few errands, caught up on some domestic crap. Today will be another day.

Fantastic pics! I love the first one especially. I really missed out on a killer photo opportunity Sunday morn, but the slopes were calling.

Many more photos to come - I spent about 4 hours this morning out in the woods taking photos - up to my balls in snow, tripod and all. It was sooo beautiful. I doubt my crappy photographic skills can do justice to the joy of the snow and how it visually changed everything. But we'll see......
