Such a relaxing day. I stayed up waaaayyyy too late last night working on my cookbook - formatting, and creating a template, and managing photos for input. I managed to complete two sets of recipes (screenshots enclosed).

Slept in and took a long bikeride out ot Harpers Ferry and back, totalling 52 miles. It was really pretty out, a mild breeze. It was comfortable cycling weather - hardly broke a sweat. Came home and took a long bath and then took a nap for a few hours (I'm such a slacker), then woke up and went out and ran a few minor errands.

Came home and cooked dinner, and settling in for another relaxing night, of laundry, cleaning out fridge and watching Lance Armstrong/Cheryl Crowe on Saturday Night Live.

What a nice late October day - and Friday to boot. Was a nice undramatic commute into the office where the day went by fairly quickly with pockets of drama and productivity. I paced myself, and then finally suited up in my cycling gear to head out on a really chilly, albeit pretty Fall sunset then more Blair Witch Projectness out to Purcellville and back. Relatively uneventful, just many deer, fewer cyclists - a mere 46 miles.

Finished up and headed to of all places, Walmart to pick up a few essentials for the weekend, including a fire/flood safe. I've been meaning to get one - but keep procrastinating - but in the wake of all the recent weather attrocities, needed to have all my documents and such safe. Cooked dinner and cleaned/lubed my bike - then went out onto my deck to check the plants and my Man Ray Pumpkin - which looks really sad - his face finally succumed to the elements, all caved in - extra scary.

Gonna spend the rest of the evening working on my cookbook, relaxing while doing domestic crap. The weekend should be just relaxing. Ahhhh...

Was a splendid Fall Octoberesque day. Woke up to a brisk sunny day, after a good snooze in my feather comforter - enjoyed some coffee out on my deck and then showered and headed to work. Work was a general whirlwind of activity - but busy enough to make the day slide by.

I was aching to get out to cycle in the colorful Fall leaves, suited up and headed out towards Shirlington - albeit, many urban stops, but the Ballston area parks were beautiful with the changing leaves, in the sunset. Then it became dark, and another return trip in complete Blair Witch Project darkness.

Came home and launched in my usual chores and domestic tasks, then finished up installing fonts for my cookbook project. And then to settle in for the evening for a little tv.

Life is good.

Finally the rain ended. Last night was very cold - finally put on the heat for the first time. Woke up this morning a little still under the weather, but choked down some coffee and headed into the office - the only thing allowing me inspiration was that the sun was out.

Work was incredibly busy - the day just seemed to blow by. The Fall sky was beautiful, and there were beautiful clouds out in reminant of Hurricane Wilma - and a little chilly out, but I was waiting hard to go out for a spin. A mere windy, but beautiful - suited up in my generally late Fall regalia (when did Fall only last only 2 weeks?), and headed out towards Hamilton - full headwind. I wanted to work up a good sweat to sweat off any cold symptoms, then to sail home with a tailwind.

Was a beautiful sunset heading out, then it was dark for the last 1.5 hrs - i sometimes feel like when I bike at night - out there in the middle of nowhere, out in the woods, on the trail, in the dark, with my headbeams guiding my way - cinemetographic images similar to the Blair Witch Project.

Finished up my ride, came home and tasked out my evening with domesticity and relaxation - but was confounded with phone calls involving plans for the holiday season afront. Seems I'm being roped into Thanksgiving dinner cooking, and support for a 22 formal dinner party. Gee, imagine that. I love it though. My first course is already prepared, Pumpkin Soup.

Watched a little tv and broke out my calendar for the rest of the holiday season....less than 9 weeks until Xmess, paid a few bills....put on another sweater.

(under the weather....sick with a cold)
work was miserable, and did not go on a training ride - reminants of Hurricane Wilma, teemed with a norester....it was too miserable to bike, raining, windy, and 42 degrees - already sick with a cold, decided to come home after work and work on my cookbook - and recover.

Life is still good.

Ughh....I sometimes hate mondays. Well, the mondays that start out with rain, a idiotic commute with idiosavants being shitty drivers, the onslaught of a cold (sniffling, stuffed up, chills, aches), work stress...and more rain.

I managed to get thru the day, with high drama - but ended on a good note. I was hesitant to go on my training ride thinking that the rain would make things worse, but my cold meds kicked in...I was full of energy.

I left at a reasonable time and biked out to Purcellville and back, it was dark for 3/4's of the ride - and the ride back was raining. But it was a nice fast ride - pleasant, but funny being spooked at almost every mile by deer crunching in the fall leaves....I counted 26 deer on my 46 mile ride. And only 4 cyclists, 4 runners.

Hurricane Wilma is still slowly raging outside....much rain....will continue thru tomorrow and parts of Wed. May be doing the spinner cycle at the gym tomorrow night - depending on how I feel.
