Beautiful weather today - SPECTACULAR! Suffice to say that I enjoyed every minute of it. Biked out to Harpers Ferry and back (54 miles). Gentle breeze, warm, not too hot. Came home and took a shower and a nap. Woke up in the late afternoon/early evening, watered my garden, ran a few errands including getting a few more DVDs for the evening. By the end of this weekend, I will have watched 5 movies: Melvin Goes to Dinner, Seeing Other People, Chelsea Walls, Playing By Heart, and Trainspotting. I have to say that Playing By Heart was a wild twist of plots - very sad, heartfelt, yet strangely entertaining + good cast.

Will probably sleep in tomorrow followed up with a casual 40+ mile training ride, then plans in the late afternoon, then time to settle in for Sunday Night anxiety before the work week begins in full swing (supposed to rain for a full week, bleah!)

makes me think that life is cool.
Should think of others.

Work was tolerable, weather was pleasant - SPECTACULAR. Enjoyed every part of it. Including the fact that I have a few days off for the weekend. I have a few nice cycling rides to do, and other plans.

Still, big strong thoughts for those who need them :)

What a sleepy day - to start with. Work was boring as all get out after some initial drama in the morning - then picked up later in the day. Suffice to say, my mind was not on work. It was on other things...and also the spectacular weather that was taking shape outside.

I headed to the gym for a quick 40 minute spinner ride warmup before I biked out to Herndon to meet my cycling club - where i met with a few of my cronies to swap stories of all the recent races, centuries, training, et al. We embarked on a very fast and furious 44 mile ride through Ashburn and back - what splendid weather!. Finished up all sweaty and covered in salt deposits. Felt great.

Came home for an evening of domestic debouchery, and then some correspondence.

Speaking of having other things on my mind - I'm keeping very positive thoughts for a few individuals over the next few days that I heard tonight that have had a tragic turn of events in the past day or so.

Life can be life.

Back to work after a few days off - was almost prepared for the drama that never unfolded. It was a stressfull day trying to finish up a few projects - but all told, got it all done. Headed early to my spinner class because of the storms brewing outside - biked an hour before class, then had another sweatfest for the 1.5 hour class. I think I sweated another 5 gallons. Felt good. Finished up and came home for a sleepy evening of domesticity. I am utterly worn out.

Life is sometimes Exhausting.

What a wonderful 4th of July. I drove out to Purcellville to bike out to the high hills of West Virginia for some quad searing goodness - 52 miles total. Came home, took a quick nap while it stormed then showered up and met with a special friend to watch some fireworks. What a lovely day - on all levels.
