Stayed up very late last night, trying to finish formatting the cookbook, I have a handle on it. I may re-configure how it's bound.

Woke up late this morning and prepared for a long training ride out towards Harpers Ferry, WV. It was a beautiful day, albeit chilly. But I was able to catch the beautiful hues of the changing leaves. 58 miles total.

Came home, cleaned up a little and took a short nap. Headed out in the early evening to all the shopping hot spots to make a dent on my holiday shopping for my family. In the process, picked up a few things for my apartment, including more wall mounted candle things (modern sconces) - a friend tells me I'm not only a lesbian, but also a "candle whore".

Came home, unpacked hung the wall sconces, called the parents (having dinner tomorrow night with them), and began to manage the mess of bags & boxes of holiday presents for xmess.

Will spend a late night finishing the print format of the cookbook, and just relax with many candles lit.

Life is good.

Thank goodness it's effin Friday. Uuugh! What a crazy day at work. Just flew by. But very productive. And chilly out. I decided to wear my new cycling tights - extra warm, neoprene-liscious. I biked out to Hamilton and back, 38 miles - very cold ride. But peacefull - there was no one out there. And crisp. My fingers and toes got a little numb near the end.

Changed clothes while loading my bike in the car and headed towards home, stopping at World Market and the grocery store, with an additional stop to A.C. Moore to get some candles for the shell encased candle holders (pictured) that I purchased at World Market. (a friend refers to me as the "candle whore"). That place is a dangerous place to be at - I'm a sucker for all the crap they sell.

Came home, unpacked and lit a bunch of candles and just settled into the evening - just relaxing. Will have a relaxing weekend of cooking, shopping, cleaning, and cycling (damnit...have I turned into a woman?). Grrr.

Brrrrr! It's gotten' cold today. Well, it should - it's November 10th. We've been spoiled the past week or so with warm temperatures. Mother Nature has finally ponied up to make it cold.

Woke up this morning, still feeling a little under the weather - but ready to tackle the day. It was very cold out, and I forgot to turn on my heat last night - unfun getting out of the shower wet. I slurped down some coffee and bundled up...headed into the office for a fucked up day of pure drama.

One of my colleagues told me that I'm a massochist - to do things for the sake of pain, that I thrive on the adrenalyn of the pain for the sake of it, not admonishing me for that fucked up "talent", but that I am a "buffer" for others in the office to not get the direct pain of the wrath of ABBA...I absorb it, in a diplomatic way - as to protect my colleagues/my staff. She was very acute in that observation - in hindsite. We both laughed because she is the acuwoman of my massochistic cycling endeavors - wondering why the HELL I would voluntarilly elect to drive for many hours and spend a weekend doing something completely brutal, cycling hours on end - up brutal hills. Then to also train 7 days a week - in every temperature, from extreme heat to extreme cold-weather frigidness. I think she finally understood my innermost mechanism - I'm a glutton for pain.

In that realization, we both realized my role in the office. I am the buffer, the rest of the staff just supports the pain I endure for them. I know this, because another colleague of mine spotted me in the parking lot stretching out ready to head East in the cold yelled, "yo man, don't pass out from the cold!"

I took the first coldest ride of the season - not a long one, a mere 32 miles. I was bundled up and i was still frozen when I returned back from Ballston. Time to break out my arsenal of my winter riding gear.

Came home and settled into a lazy night of domesticity and a little tv. Tomorrow is Friday - hopefully little drama at the office, but hey...it's next to the weekend.

Yes, definately coming down with something. My body is in a funk. I go thru my routines - which I'm required to, eat, sleep, work. But I've been slogging thru this week, in complete denial that I have a cold. Sniffling, aches, congestion - all the obvious signs. I woke up this morning not very well rested - was tossing and turning all night with congestion and an annoying runny nose and sneezing that would wake me up. Almost overslept.

Went into the office and was blasted by a full day of drama and overexcitement, teemed with more bullshit drama. Unfuckingproductive. Then meetings afterwards to deal with crisis management. I think I went thru a full box of tissues and a small bottle of Purell hand sanitizer from blowing my nose and then making sure I'd not spread my germs. Grrr. It's unheard that in this day in age that a company only allows 10 days of leave "annual leave" (combined sick days, vacation, et al.) - so folks in my office choose to come into the office sick, in order to salvage vacation time. Heck, they are miserable anyways - why not be sick at the office. So what happens is a vicious circle - of people being sick and infecting others. The whole scenario sucks. I suffer because of it, and I lead a very healthy lifestyle - I'm very clean... makes me miserable thinking about it.

So fuck that. I decided to take my regular training ride, even though I felt like shit. I'm an optimist tho - I knew that the best part of doing this is that the ride would blow out the congestion in my lungs in the cool Fall air - and help me destress. Which it did. I biked out to Peonian Springs and back, a mere 38 miles - just what the ride ordered. I felt great afterwards.

Came home and cooked dinner, domestic crap...and relaxed in front of the boob tube - fell asleep for a moment after my cold meds kicked in. Woke up to type this.

Oh another day is tomorrow. Dawned on me that Friday is 11/11. May have to celebrate something fun and odd on 11/11 at 11:11am and 11:11pm. (11/11-11:11)

Stressful day at work. Nice training ride, 44 miles to and from Purcellville - was dark and spooky, but a chilly fun ride. Came home and domesticity continues + projects. Too tired to write more.

(internet was out, postblogged)

VERY VERY relaxing day - woke up late, cycled out to Harpers Ferry and back, took a few diversions totalling 61 miles total. Perfect weather. Cooked some amazing shrimp - flash broiled in a pan of garlic butter, Old Bay seasoning and Chardonnay. Finished up all pertinent things for the cookbook - time to flatten images and format for printing.
