Ahhhhh... What a relaxing day. Stayed up waayyy too late last night and played, conversed, and help initiate a collaborative art project with one of my friends - an "Exquisite corpse" collaboration for her new house. It's fun to work on these kinda projects. Slept in this morning and woke up in the early afternoon to prepare for a long 62 mile training ride. It was incredibly beautiful outside. Not too hot, just right. Afterwards I came home and showered and had a quick bite to eat for dinner and then went out on a few errands. Had the moon roof open on my car - was a beautiful drive. Came home and just relaxing - time to start working on this year's cookbook.

Life is Good!

Had really odd dreams last night and slept on my left shoulder again (it's been bothering me for a few weeks now - need to go see a doc about it) - almost overslept. Quickly got out of the house with coffee in tow and unshaven - good thing it was Friday with little drama to expect at the office. Wore my Bridge to Bridge t-shirt, jeans and sandles - ahh gotta love casual Fridays.

Work went by relatively fast will all sorts of shit to finish up, watched the weather all day - it hot really hot for a late September day, and we were gonna have thunderboomers roll thru in the late afternoon/early evening. It rained hard for about 10 minutes at @ 5pm, then was just humid. Decided to bike out to Purcellville.

I get out on the trail, hardly anyone out there - guess they were all getting drunk at the bars or shopping to avoid the rain. Well, it continued to threaten, but it didn't rain during my 44 mile ride.

After I passed Ashburn, I see this gentleman walking his mountain bike - with a flat tire. I slowed down as I always do and ask if he needs help "I've got a flat, no biggie" he says. I said, "need help fixing it?" (I can change a flat in less than 5 minutes). He said, sure - if you got time, how long will it take? - I replied 'bout five minutes. Sure enough, I fixed his flat in about 4 minutes and I asked him where he was biking to. He said Hamilton. Oh crap...he was gonna walk 15 miles to Hamilton. That woulda sucked. He was really appreciative and I biked with him to Leesburg before I sped off. "Pay it Forward" I said to him as I clicked into a higher gear and zoomed on uphill out to Purcellville.

Finished up my ride in the pitch black. First ride I realized that I need to break out the lights. Last 5 miles was a little dicey - past twilight, I skidded to avoid a deer that was in the road. But the weather was perfect - I just zoomed thru the Autumn air feeling the bliss, but angry that it was getting darker. Ran a few errands afterwards, picked up a few cool things at Home Goods - a 90 dollar All Clad brand turkey roaster (with removable rack) for 29 bucks and a really cool stainless steel vertical paper towel holder with a funny almost sex toyesque contraption to allow a quick grab-n-snap of paper towels for under 10 bucks. Went to the grocery store and stocked up on the usual weekend provisions. Came home and unpacked, cracked open a beer and sat out on the deck after watering my garden - was sitting there thinking...this is such beautiful weather...I'm spoiled...I feel for those folks down in Galviston area of Texas - what's gonna hit tonight. Hurricane Katrina's bitch sister, Rita is coming for a visit down there. I hope people are able to be sensible and take cover/evacuate. My thoughts are for all of them...and the continuing disaster of Katrinaville.

Will be a relaxing weekend....

Work was relatively slow, then sped up in the afternoon. I was hankering to get out in the beautiful weather - perfect cycling weather. I joined up with my cycling club and did a very leisure, yet seemingly fast 32 miler (still recovering from B2B).

Speaking of B2B, I put together a better user interface of a slide show (not all the photos...but the good ones): Bridge to Bridge Century Challenge 2005

Gonna just chill tonight, catch up on a few things and relax in front of the tv (a few new premiers on).

Life continues...I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

For a work day, just idiocy, and productivity with minimal drama. Got off work on time to enjoy a really pretty 30 mile stretch out ride (still really sore from the B2B) - one of the finest days for cycling, perfect weather. Ran a few errands and then came home and cooked dinner and prepared for work, unpacked stuff from the weekend.

Time for catchup of correspondence and bills to pay.

Tomorrow is the first day of Autumn - my favorite season. Time to seek love :)

OMG - I woke up sore as hell. Bad start for the rest of a short workweek. Drudged into the office for a relatively slow morning - the net was down. I played catchup and had an opportunity to run a few errands for the office including picking up my new office chair (pictured) for my home office. I ordered this thing 8 weeks ago - it finally came in. And it looks fantastic, and oh sooo comfy (beats sitting on the white plastic patio chair I had).

When I came back to the office, I had all smiles and smirks as I walked in to see an embarrassingly large set of colorful helium balloons that say "Congratulations!" I opened the card, it was from my parents! I was sooo touched - and a little embarrassed (in a good way). One of my co-workers's wife brought in their 1.5 year old - the little tyke had a ball playing with the balloons.

I showed some co-workers the photos of the B2B - it confirmed for them that I'm completely insane. The net finally came up and back to work - the rest of the day sped by. I managed to leave the office on time for a very slow 20 mile non-impact stretch out ride. The weather was fantastic. I came home and put my chair together, finished up some domestic crap and now ready to post-blog the B2B weekend.

Placeholder until I get time to fill this in. Meanwhile - you can check out the photos of the B2B that I FINISHED! Click here to see photos (note: click on the LG images [the SM images are intended as thumbnails for my blog] there are 4 pages in the photo album, click "next page" to see. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to write about it, but pictures describe more than I have time to write at the moment.
