Had a WONDERFUL day! :) Perfect weather. Went for a 52 mile training ride in the morning, took a nap, then my younger brother drove up to visit - spent time with me at my place and then we ventured down to my parent's house for a fantastic steak on the grill dinner. All smiles, laughter + fun stories. Took a few photos (below). My mother recently was diagnosed with Bells Palsy - a temporary condition where facial muscles are paralyzed on her face (symptomatic from another health issue, she will recover in a few weeks) - but she's humorous about it - she says she looks like Dick Cheney when she smiles. She is soo much of a good sport, she allowed us to take the #2 pic below. We all laughed for hours. I said farewell with many hugs, came home to a little domesticity and early bedtime (I'm fricken exhausted). Will have a fun day tomorrow :) Here's the photos of the day with my brother and my parents :) Life is FANTASTIC!

Strange day, but fantastic. Work was a nasty drama fest, avoided it altogether. Spent the day updating my resume and contemplating a transition to get rid of the stress. Took a long nap in the afternoon and then awoke with good plans for the evening - a concert to join my special friend with as a companion, to meet her friends. It was a fantastic concert - out in the splendor of the June atmosphere, rainy, summerfest kinda way, beer in hand, just pure fun. Gawd, I really like this woman. Had a time to meet her friends - great folks, amazing spirit. Hopes to hang with them more often. After such a great evening, I headed home and spent a little time cleaning up while watching a movie "TransAmerica" - funny yet amazing film, gonna be a busy weekend. Life is FANTASTIC :)

Unsure what I can say about today - my commute to work was crappy, then unpleasantly followed by a total berrating by ABBA (Asshole Bipolar Boss Asshole) for his continued failure of insight - suffice to say, the day was full of unnessary drama for the sake of drama. I was about to quit. But I'm a soldier...and soldiered on. Although I did make a formal request for a reference/recommendation letter in the event that I need to transition myself out of there - I have hit my threshold. Fuck them - if they don't recognize my leadership and worth, their loss. Ended up working late with a crisis, a project that had issues - I was only there for moral support (I wasn't really involved in the project). I had to leave to hit the gym (I wanted to join my cycling club for a training ride - but left work too late, and it was threatening to thunderstorm. SO I hit the gym...on the way - I bumped into a special friend :) We talked for a while in the parking lot as she was heading out. Put me at ease. I was still fuming from all the drama of the day, she later told me that I was shaking from the irritation of the day. I was. I saddled up and spent 2 hours on the spinner bike to calm me down - just hammering the fictitious hills while chatting it up with a local cycling buddy and intermittently blasting RHCPs into my ear holes via iPod nano action. Came home and settled into a stupid night of domesticness - no tv, just organization, dinner, et al. Life is sometimes Frustrating, yet brilliantly banal :)

Another wonderful day. Work was highly productive. The weather was stellar. Went on a 32 mile training ride out towards Clarks Gap - fantastic temperatures, a little windy, but overall nice. Came back and went to my spinner class - to work on some hill excersizes for an hour and a half. It must be summer - going 3 hours for a workout :) Came home, domestic stuff, little tv while booking hotels for upcoming cycling events. This will be my last "free" weekend for almost a month (every weekend is booked for a Century ride/race). Life is Good.

What an amazing day! Stellar weather made it key - just perfect, in the upper 70s and sunshiny, gentle breeze. Work was a productive nightmare though with an onsite client - we spent all day locked in a large conference room hammering out details on a current project. Even though it was stressfull, we managed to find closure and ended on a great note. Good management. Suited up after work and biked out past Clarks Gap and back - was a fantastic training ride - Tuesday "Time Trialed" it on the flats (out and back 38 miles total). Quad searing fun. So I decided to go to the gym to continue my training - hopped on the spinner bike for another hour and 15 minutes while I hammered more fun and talked to a few other spinner cronies (a few of us do the spinners outside of our regular scheduled class). Total sweatfest. I finished up famished and ran a few errands on the way home including picking up some sushi and a sixer of Corona. Sat out on my deck, barefoot and enjoyed the weather while eating sushi and sipping a Corona. Life is Good!

Monday. Sleepy day at work. Yet Productive. Strange early June weather - cooled down. Went on a 22 mile ride out to Leesburg and back before my spinner class. Spinner class was not anything dramatic. Pure sweatfest. Ran a few errands on the way home - got some new summer linens for my bed...lookin good. Evening of cooking, correspondence and general organizational bullshit. Life is Still Good

Wow, just WOW! What a wonderful day. In the morning, I biked out to Harpers Ferry and back (52 miles total)- weather was perfect. Came home and took a quick nap, then showered and went to meet a special friend - we walked 8 miles on the W&OD trail, followed by dinner. She is such great company. Suffering from Sunday Night Anxiety, but Life is Good!
