What can I say? It's been yet another beautiful Fall day. And a Saturday - all day to enjoy it. Spent the morning sleeping in, doing domestic stuff. After lunch, got my rear in gear and gathered all my bike stuff, ran a few quick errands then drove to Vienna.

I had a really enjoyable bike ride from Vienna to Hamilton and back (51 miles). During the ride, I was trying to remember the messed up dream I had in the morning when I slept in. As dreams always are - never real, but real. The usual suspects in this dream were a few family members, in a vacation mode, a few colleagues from grad school, a David Lynchesque plot and odd narrative. Let's just say it involved a camping trip on the edge of a city, mountain biking, a bizarre diner experience involving the order of flounder omlettes with a side of Pomme Frittes simultaneously while asking Allison Janney (who plays "CJ" on the tv show "West Wing") for an autograph*, the a three-way sexual experience with two identical twin chinese modern geishas, a jump off a bridge (with friends) into a barge...missing the barge, and almost drowning. It was strange, morbid, erotic - and just plain stupid. I was almost happy to wake up - my dreams are getting boring...or cliche. Ha!

The picture to the left is of me, a very weary eyed bicyclist, photo taken by my father at 6:30am - before I drove out to do the Ed Sanders Memorial Century last weekend. I have some new pics of the trail - just need to scan them, et al. Will reformat computer tomorrow. Hope to be online tomorrow night...if not...oh well.

*Janney, in this dream segway - did this really absurd autograph - she had her travelling publicist pull out a roll of glossy posters...of her in a provocative pose...like Valerie Bertinellie (sp?) in the 70/80s to have her sign. She then took this wickedly large fat sharpie non-deletable marker and did the sorriest attempt to make a "cool" cartoon charicture of herself, and then proceeded to sign the poster all over the place like she was Dale Ernhard or something.

TGIF! Long day at work, did a nice lon42 mile bike ride afterwards - great weather. Took some pictures( - will post them in a few days after I develop, scan & post) - it was really dark coming home. Lots of deer.

What a week. Glad it's over. I'm excited for the weekend to relax, rest, take in some great Fall weather, and get a few productive things done. One item is to reformat this computer and upgrade to Windows XP. Time to sit back, drink a beer or two and watch Kerry & Bush make clowns of each other in the 2nd Presidential Debate. SO far - just pure politicking and jabs and spars. Booooring.

What an outstandingly beautiful day. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Work was work, but the time afterwards outside in the Fall weather was spectacular, quick 42 mile bike ride. This time it wasn't chilly - was real pleasant, bike shorts & long sleeve jersey. I took a few pictures (non-digital) - got a few of the trail, and of some deer that were within 10 feet, looking all "deer-like". Twas a nice ride. Will be glad tomorrow is Friday. Much to do tonight, so adeau...

Ho hum, ho hum, ho hum...Another workday - but a beautiful Fall day. "Indian Summer" Autumn is over - it's now Fall - I had to scrape the frost off my car windsheild this morning. First frost. Work went smooth, then went on a very pleasant 42 mile bike ride - what a beautiful Fall sunset (almost reminded me of some Windham Hill album cover from the late 80s) - I need to take a camera out (wished I had a digital camera). It was a chilly ride - first hour it was all sunsetty, then it got dark on the way back, then pitch black. Good thing I have my dual lamps. And it was chilly, those "toesties" worked well, my feet never got cold, unlike last night.

Published a few recipes on my cookblog last night, some overdue, some collaborative. Enjoy!

If yesterday wasn't wierd enough, today was just plain odd. Maybe because there was zero mention of the crap that happened at work yesterday. The day sailed by, things got done, even a few complements. I don't get it. It was a beautiful Fall day, crisp, clear - on the chilly side. Leather Weather. When I got off work, I wore my tights and a long sleeve for my bike ride. Low and behold, I should have worn a jacket, my toesties (neoprene shoe covers), and maybe my scullcap. It was unbeleivably cold the last hour of my ride. When I got back to my car, my toes, ears and fingers were completely numb. It's from the wind when you are biking 20+mph. Gonna pack those items tomorrow.

Watching the Vice Presidential debate. This is almost high comedy. Watching Cheney cracks me up - he's a confident man, ripping Edwards a new hole (too bad I'm not a republican).

What an odd day. This morning, woke up in lotta pain - I was exhausted. I think that I'm usually in more pain 2 days after I do a Century bike ride. I called the office - told them that I was gonna come in after a few hours - needed some "time for personal business". No questions asked. Later I talked with one of my co-workers - they were like "don't bother coming in - he's being an asshole, just take the rest of the day off" I was thinking, "Thank goodness that I didn't go in - I cannot deal with his bipolar schenanegans".

I was like, fine..I'll nap a little more, work on sending out resumes, et al. - then take a long bike ride. WHich is exactly what I did. Was the best day - and the 44 mile bike ride hit the spot - perfect weather, crisp, clear, cool. Now just following up on emails for job postings, and getting organized. Heck, already prepared for work tomorrow - didn't go in today. Will wonder what tomorrow will be like - ABBA is out of the office for some meeting. Oy vay. Feels like Sunday night Anxiety all over again.

What a beautiful day. All of it. Slept in til 10am, milled around doing domestic stuff...was actually chilly outside - but the sun came out and invited me out to play.

In the afternoon, I drove to Vienna and took a very leisurely "stretchout" bike ride (to stay limber after yesterday's century). Biked about 45 minutes out and took a rest on a bench and people watched for about a 1/2 hour - enjoying the sunshine, crisp air. Then biked back, ran a few errands - had the sunroof open the entire afternoon. Came home, took shower, had grilled Bratwurst, baked beans and fresh tomatos (last batch) from the garden. The rest of the last tomatos, I used to make homemade salsa with. Such a great day...now sunday night anxiety settles in.
