CIOPWCycling and waxing poetics.... Life is strange, yet Ginormous. a shot out to my brother, e e cummings: Humanity i love youHumanity i love you because you would rather black the boots of success than enquire whose soul dangles from his watch-chain which would be embarrassing for both
parties and because you unflinchingly applaud all songs containing the words country home and mother when sung at the old howard
Humanity i love you because when you're hard up you pawn your intelligence to buy a drink and when you're flush pride keeps
you from the pawn shops and because you are continually committing nuisances but more especially in your own house
Humanity i love you because you are perpetually putting the secret of life in your pants and forgetting it's there and sitting down
on it and because you are forever making poems in the lap of death Humanity
i hate you - ee cummings

Pathetic, but true. Saw this movie tonight. I could strangely relate to parts of it. Like today. No details to speak of. Just another day - of sorts. Full office drama - all of which I avoided. I did not go in. Enjoyed the sleep in, and a nice training ride in the afternoon. The weather feels like Spring - got up into the low 70s. Came home, showered and then ran a few errands - to get some DVDs for the weekend, Napolean Dynamite (pictured), Garden State, and Walk the Line. Picked up some catfish and provisions to make some cornbreaded catfish (more to come on this). Just settling in for the evening, windows open - the pre-Spring air. Will be a relaxing weekend before the shit hits the fan on Monday. So be it.

When I first saw Napolean, I laughed my butt off and said "What the hell was that?" Later, I realized that it appropriately addresses the awkwardness of life. There is the life we're supposed to live, and then their is reality. Eat you're damn ham Tina!

Among the men and women the multitude, I perceive one picking me out by secret and divine signs, Acknowledging none else, not parent, wife, husband, brother, child, any nearer than I am, Some are baffled, but that one is not--that one knows me. Ah lover and perfect equal, I meant that you should discover me so by faint indirections, And I when I meet you mean to discover you by the like in you. - Walt Whitman

Was a pretty hectic day, but I'm glad it is (almost) over. Work was just kick ass. Followed up with a 32 mile training ride out towards Alexandria (first time in months - I've been avoiding certain areas because of the gang activities). Finished up and came home to do a few updates on things, bike log (2,200+ miles so far this year) and was inspired to take a stab at organizing the 6 items I've prepared for my cookbook this year - still editing some recipes: Click here for updates on my online Cookblog (Collection of all the photos taken so far, I still need to fill in a few recepies - I'm editing them) Life is a bottle of garlic infused macademia nut oil.

Busy busy day. Work was a wild whirlwind. Finished up and went on a chilly training ride to Hamilton and back - total 42 miles. It was a beautiful sunsetty evening. Came home and settled in for an evening of domesticity - and shopping online for a cycling watch for the season. Major requirements: Altitude, Temperature & Barometer...and of course the obvious features of time, alarm, stopwatch, et al. The altometer and the temperature gauge is the most important...and to be able to see in the dark. <---- watch snob Life is Timely

For a monday, not a bad start for the workweek. Work was busy and productive - a little catchup after missing Friday, but fortunately no crisis management. I was a little tired during the day due to anxiety induced insomnea for the stressfull workweek this will be. The weather will be great this week - will rise into the upper 60s and low 70s later this week and thru the weekend with some showers impending. I forwent today's training ride after the long rides I had over the weekend and the rainshowers that were about to show an ugly head - so I went to the gym and spent about 2 hours on the spinner bike, complete sweatfest. I felt great afterwards. Came home after a few errands and a trip to the library to get a new library card (so I can take out Books on CD for my cycling event sojourns this season). Spent the evening doing domestic crap, including hanging a sign I bought over the weekend (pictured) in my kitchen. Note to self, I need to get a small step ladder. Rest of the night was dealing with a little tv, correspondence, et al. Life is Good.
