Biked to Vienna tonight. Hot steamy ride - about 80% humidity and 95 degrees. It was threatening to storm, but i almost wished it would rain. Drove home in the thunderstorm. Just finished all my preparations for my vacation trip. Just need to load the car in the morning and drive 5 hours. Oh joy.


Got me a few books on tape, one of which I'm interested in "reading" (hearing) Middle Age: A Romance by Joyce Carol Oates. Interesting to see so many book titles of the same book.


According to this website, it is "A darkly comic novel from the author of Blonde and We Were the Mulvaneys.

Beautiful (abeit, humid) bike ride tonight. Saw many deer on the trail - and the cicadas are officially gone. Not a peep out of them, nor their clumsy flying habits bouncing off my helmut. Guess it will be another 17 years. By then - I will be 53 years old. I'm making preparations for my vacation trip this week (wednesday - sunday) to stay with my parents at their lake house at Smith Mountain Lake. Should be alot of fun. Relaxing, playing tennis, biking (great trails - Mountain Biking up Smith Mountain), cooking - and much time at the pool. Good thing - I need to even out my biking tan. It will also be great to be with my brothers and their families. I need to remember to pack a camera. I'm cooking dinner Thursday night - for all of us (13 people). SO I need to get all my ingredients together (the lake house has a partially stocked kitchen - it's not used much). So I will leave this blog unattended for wednesday thru sunday. Gawd..I'm looking forward to this time off.
