Yet another really Odd day.

Unsure how to talk about it other than it was just really odd. Woke up after a reallydisturbing set of dreams - half sexual, some anxiety driven - just traumatic in the fashion and state I finally bitchslapped the alarm clock this morning.

Then I did my idiocy of a "clean shaven man" to be civil - I shaved. I don't resent it - I like feeling smoothe...but what is it about only having to shave one's face..as a man. Women like it because it makes the face feel babylike....I guess it goes both ways.

Oy vay.

Work was horrible - in that just a hyper stressful day - and no time to take a lunch or catch up. I was ready for a huge ride after work with my cycling club.

Unfortunately - at about the time I was all suited up and heading out the 2 miles (warmup) to meet my club - the lightning got really bad, very dangerous. I became nervous but decided to meet up to see what they all decided as a unit.

Got to Herndon - very few of us. The quick desicion was to just bail - too dangerous. It was also going to be a miserable ride with the wind and the hurricane force rain. All but 5 of us stayed - we just sort of looked at each other. I had to bike back to my car which was heading west anyways..I said..if anyone wants to go at it..I'll be riding that way....so we all headed into the wind, and rain...just fat drops. It was hot, we welcomed it.

To make a long story short, we did about 36 miles before we gave it up. I was only partially soaked. Of course, when I finished the ride...the rain stopped...the storm moved on - nice rainbow (pictured).

Trying to finish up packing and preparations for my vacation - spent almost 2 hours tonight dissassembling my bike head to toe...cleaning, relubing and re-assembling. Laundry - sheesh..I'm the domestic queen of laundry, packing, and fingers all greasy soiled.

I'm really looking forward to the trip.
