Wowee...what a long ass day. But I'm awake and alive for a really relaxing weekend. Work was a silly thing...a mere portal between waking up and going to get real things done - and more importantly, to pick up my paycheck. Ha!
We got out of work early, mid afternoon - which was perfect because I had a lot of things to do before I went on my training ride. I hit the bank, and then drove home to drop off bike so I could get my car mini-detailed (was in desperate attention for inside n out cleaning. There's this great car wash spa in Ashburn - they do a fantastic job, takes over an hour - but it makes your car look brand new inside and out. Finished up, got a few groceries on the way home and by then it was about 4pm. I went out on a nice 2 hour ride - beautiful sunset over the Potomac, I biked from my apartment out to Harpers Ferry and back - very nice. Came home and took a quick shower so I could meet up with a friend for a qick beer and bite to eat before she left town for the weekend. Came home and cleaned my bike and did some work in my deck garden after yesterday's wind damaging debacle. Fluttered around the house cleaning while watching a really silly DVD that a colleague let me borrow, Undercover Brother.
I'm in for the night, gonna prepare some crabcakes and the works for a dinner I'm making tomorrow night - will chat with a few friends and work on my stoopid cookbook. Tomorrow will be a relaxing day - a long training ride in the mid afternoon, more domestic stuff...then a nice dinner. I'll be joining my parents for a nice steak dinner at their home on Sunday in exchange that I help them set up their new Dell - get configured for the net. Will be beautiful Autumn weather - relaxing weekend. I wanna try to relax this weekend, because the next two weekends I'll be out of town for each weekend, doing centuries (the last two organized centuries) for the season.
Life is good.
