Left this morning for work - it was actually chilly out. Leather weather. Wore my leather jacket for the first time this Fall. It was raining and whizzed to work and the day sorta flew by with a frenzy of friendly professional drama.
The weather called for more rain all afternoon, with a lot of wind - 20-40mph gusts. But it never really rained - just those crazy clouds that whisp and dart quickly along the seemingly tops of trees. It was actually a very pretty Fall day, crisp with little humidity. I was eager to go out on a ride to enjoy the weather, but knew it would be windy - so I picked a headwind direction towards Hamilton. It was hellish heading into it, albeit very pretty. Went only to Hamilton and back, roughly 36 miles. The ride back was very swift - came back in record time.

Finished up and ran a few errands, including going to
Scan furniture store - to finally order my new bar chair stools (chrome legs with a black leather seat and short back - to match my dining room chairs). In the process, I saw a lamp on clearance that just hit me with pure impulse that it would match the rest of my livingroom (needed an accent side lamp). It was on sale, but not cheap - 90 bucks. But I had to have it, checked out and put a deposit on the stool chairs (they will be here next Wed).
Drove home and unpacked my lamp, work crap, cycling crap and settled into a fun evening of minor decoration, light domestic chores, cooking and then some tv - until I went out onto my deck to water the plants. CRAP! The wind did some major, yet minor damage. Blew over all three of my heavy plants on plant stands knocking my deck furniture in all directions...an explosion of potting soil and broken terra cotta plant pots. Grr! I watered what I could after I managed to scoop up the plants and rescue a plant with a broken pot (will have to replant tomorrow night - I stuck it in a plastic bucket, it's new temporary home until I can get a new large pot).
Life is still good.
