My buddies from the Team Give Life who I met and biked with at the Mountains of Misery about a month ago are almost done the Race Across America - such an amazing event. I have been following the event all week - and the progress, 2 of them I bike with here in NoVA. They have been training for years. On a sad note, a RAAM favorite, Bob Breedlove lost his life during the event - such a sad and tragic story. It put a mourn tone on the rest of the race.

Puts a thought in my head - maybe I should consider joining one of these teams...sounds like "fun" to bike 3000 miles across america...I mean RACE doing 110,000 feet of climbing...in less then 9 days...round the clock....insane.

Well, work was just work today. Work. It was hot as shit all day with extra high humidity from the late afternoon thunderstorm that seemed to come back and haunt with a pure dry heave - no rain...just gagging and threat. Did this all throught my 44 mile ride to Shirlington and back. No drama - just Paynes Grey clouds and the whir of my wheels - and heat, sweat - pure fun.

Finished up and then it began to rain, headed out to Ashburn to drop off some paperwork for one of the apartments I'm stalking, I mean looking at moving into. Came home, had dinner, did more packing. Too much shit to do, too little time.

Will be biking with a friend tomorrow night - will have time to catch up on stuff, then a quick bite (supposed to pour rain...i'll still bike)...

Life is good.
