Oy vay. I'm beat. Long day at work (big friggen deal - not) - bolted to meet my biking partner. We did the Sterling - Purceville route on the W O&D - baout 42 miles. It was threatening to downpour/thunder - but we totally lucked out. THe severe thunderstorm crap passed to the north of us and only gave us a cooler temperature. It was about 92 degrees at the beginning with really heavy humidity. It was almost brutal at first - but cooled down. We both noticed that even though we bike that many miles - it's a great workout and nice to have companionship - but at first, neither of us (in the beginning of the ride) are used to talking while biking. We both found that we are both out of breath the first 20 minutes because we are catching up on stuff..and just getting into the breathing routine. My training partner is a dualathalete - she participates in dualathalons often (biking and running). Her training matches mine because I'm on a much heavier (mtb) mountain bike - so I get a heavy workout - and she's on a roadbike.

Before the end of the summer, I'd like to get a roadbike. I've been test driving a few in the past few weeks. The more yummy..the more $$$. (click on the bike pictured for description - this bike is on sale!)

I was thinking tonight, that I average 250 miles a week. That's 500 miles every two weeks - 1,000 miles a month that I bike. I've been biking daily since February. That's 5 months. I will pass the 5,000 mile mark this month - sheesh..I could have biked to California...and almost back.
