Last day of March. Now soon to be April 1st. What a joke. Ha! Soon to be Daylight Savings Time - oh joy! No biggie.
Today was a strange day of sorts with work - pure hell, but it ended ok. I spent my day between meetings at headquarters and offsite in Crystal City - a very busy day. But the weather was beyond excellent - almost 80 degrees! I was hankering to go on a really LONG training ride after the drama of work unfolded - and to break into the Springlike weekend.
That I did. I suited up into my summer gear and biked out to Purcellville and then some....the weather was just too awesome (total 46 miles). I had to finish before it got too dark. On my way back, I pacelined with a few chicks I know from the U of MD cycling team (who also bike with my cycling club). It was a fast & furious paceline back. We had a lot of fun. Nothing like giggles, spandex, and carbon fiber. It was crazy delish.
I came home after a few errands, and watched
Prime - a film about a mixed aged couple who get entangled, the mother of the very young man happens to be the therapist (played by Merril Streep) of the female subject, 37 years old, recently divorced (played by Uma Thurmon). It was a humorous film. Strangely I could relate to parts of it, unsure why. Also picked up this odd art-type undocumentary of the last days of Kurt Cobaine's life,
Last Days. It was a curious find - but almost too frustrating to watch. So I turned that trash off and decided to clean my bike (pictured).
In the process of cleaning my bike, I had to run to my car a few times to get my toolbox and my iPod - I snapped a few odd pics...one in the hallway, a very unflattering pic of me...and a strange shot of the new Lansdowne Blvd overpass over Rt 7. I wish I had a wide angle lens on my digital camera to capture the odd spendor of it all. Oh well.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna break out my mountain bike and do the Heritage Trail along the Potomac just a few blocks away - just a fun, yet different diversion. Then cook a Frittata. More to come...
Life is Springlike.
