Feeling a little better today - well, this morning was crap. But I think I'm getting over this cold. Woke up feeling like shit again, but then headed into the office late after coughing up a bucket of phlem. Seems I didn't miss too much when I returned back to work. As one of my colleagues said to me "good week to be sick". How fucking ironical. I launched into the matters at hand and it turned out to be a really productive day despite the time I missed.
The weather was still strangely cooperative for the first days of February - it rose to be in the high 50s. In the latter part of the day, I suited up for a well deserved training ride (I missed 2 days of cycling) - for me to get out there and blow the phlem out completely, so to speak. I know I'm crass, but - this is my blog, and I can say whatevva I want, HA!
Hooked up my sexy new Orbea and headed out towards Purcellville. For some odd reason it was fast, very fast...no tailwind, no sudden inspiration....just fun to be out there. I hightailed it out to Purcellville and back (44 miles total). I only meant to go out to Peonean Springs - but I felt GREAT! I did overshoot the darkness factor...the last 20 minutes coming back were in total darkness. Since I have the new frame...I don't want to use my lights, because the battery pack may scratch the finish. It's almost the time of the season to stop using them, thank goodness. Next year, I'll prolly invest in a different lighting system.
Came back to the car and finished packing up, ran a few errands, came home and had some Quiche Loraine (store bought, I was feeling lazy) and just relaxed in front of the tv, chatted with a few friends and looked into buying some software to help me update my will/living will. Oh Joy. Guess what I'm doing this weekend? Not taxes...but close. Same concept. Isn't there a movie called Death & Taxes?
Regardless, Life is still good.
