I must be having repetitive days in terms of things I do. The only few iterations was that we had a huge thunderstorm this evening and I got a few correspondence from some old friends when I sent off a "update your address books" email post last night.
So for the most part, work was extremely busy - all day long. Not a chance to take a lunch break (cannot remember the last time I actually had a "lunch break" - usually a "working lunch") - so had to curtail my silly domestic errands until after my training ride following work. No biggie - just silly shit.

It was another scorcher today - it was exactly 100 degrees when I finished up work, with a heat index of 116 degrees. All the pleas in the office for me to avoid my ride went unheard...I'm stubborn in that way...but I did assure the crowd that I was only gonna bike for an hour. Which proved to take place - because of the huge thunderstorm that ripped into the area. I cycled into the storm and got a "tad" wet while dodging lightning strikes - upon the threshold of real danger, I turned around and rode the storm home. I was going 35mph at some parts with the wind pushing me. All in all, I managed to salvage a skimpy 22 miler out of it (only half what I usually ride - just too dangerous).
Got back to my car soaked and changed quickly and then started to head towards home in a driving storm of hail and wind. It dumped so much rain that I was hydroplaning at 25mph while driving.

Stopped by Home Goods to pick up some new placemats & napkins (parents are visiting this weekend for a dinner party - need to get formal n shit). I scored a great set of grey Calvin Klein flax napkins and some warm colored soft linen placemats. I decided to dress out the table with a few things to see what it looks like (pictured).
Came home to the unsuprizing deck garden full of hurricane-force mayem from the storm - 1/2 my garden was basically sprayed across the deck - uprooted and such. I knew this was the fate - I spent an hour repotting and repositioning plants and cleaning up. The wind was so intense that it sprayed potting soil mud over 12 feet onto my windows. Will have to deal with that later.
Time to unwind - thew on some Coltrane and finished cooking some pasta with homemade pesto - and a quick salad. Oh crap...time to do laundry. Life smiles back at me.
